Dental Project Peru provides emergency dental care and education to the most impoverished and rural areas of Peru.
Our efforts are focused in the Cusco and Apurimac regions situated in the high Andes of Peru at an average elevation of between 3,000 and 5,000 meters above sea level. These areas are underserved by the few Peruvian dentists in government maintained Health Posts. They are generally non-mobile, poorly equipped, under funded and inaccessible to most residents. Thus, until we began working there, the majority of the population had never seen a dentist or received dental treatment and education and therefore pain and infection goes untreated.
Amazingly, this area is only a few hours drive away from the tourist hub of South America, Cusco, and the Incan ruins of Machu Picchu.
Welcome to our website where you can find more information about the project. We are delighted and appreciative of any donations and you can make those easily through this site.
Thank you for visiting, Jacqueline Kotula
